Search Engine Marketing

Search Engine Marketing or SEM is a form of Internet marketing that seeks to promote websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) through the use of search engine optimization, paid placement, contextual advertising, and paid inclusion such as Paid Per Click Advertising.

SEM is the process of paying search engines so your site appears in text or image ads (also called sponsored links) on a search engine’s site based on the words and terms (keywords) that someone is searching for. For example, you may buy the keywords (Raleigh Web Design) so when someone searches for a Raleigh Web Design in North Carolina, your website will appear in the sponsored links section of the list of sites returned.
